• Course DescriptionThis course provides students with an introduction to the basic concepts of power systems. Basic features of electric power systems including phasor, complex power, and three-phase circuits are presented in the first place of the course. To offer students with the capability of transmission system analysis, the key knowledge about power transformer, transmission line parameters, and power flow analysis are provided in the course. The fundamental economic operation of power systems is illustrated in terms of minimizing fuel cost of generation systems. Fault analysis and brief introduction to distribution system are also studied in this course.
