- Photonic devices and applications

While our world mostly relies on electronics in the current stage, photonics is emerging as a promising area that enables the realization of fascinating devices and applications. We are interested in developing metamaterials-based photonic devices and applications such as holographic displays, flat lenses, and computing devices.
- Numerical simulation
- Metasurface design and characterization
- Development of miniaturized optical devices and components

- Spin Hall effect of light

The spin Hall effect of light, also known as the photonic spin Hall effect, refers to a transverse and spin-dependent splitting of reflected or refracted light at an optical interface. Especially, we aim to control and manipulate the spin Hall effect of light at structured interfaces, such as metamaterials and metasurfaces, and their applications for precision measurements.

- Topological photonics

Topological photonics is a branch of photonics that deals with the topological characteristics of photonic band dispersion. We are interested in photonic crystals and metamaterials that carry topological phases and their theoretical modelings, as well as experimental characterizations.
