School of Integrated Technology

Dean's Message
"Hello, everyone!
Thank you for visiting the website of the School of Integrated Technology. Welcome. "

The School of Integrated Technology is a part of the Institute of Integrated Technology, which was established in 2015. In the early days, the School had two graduate programs of Energy Program and Culture Program. In 2017, a new graduate program of Intelligent Robotics Program was introduced and now the School has three programs. As indicated by the name of the School of Integrated Technology, our three programs have the purpose of conducting R&D activities for integrated technologies that help us take the lead in actively dealing with the huge wave of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and massive transformation of the energy system and of fostering R&D experts through those R&D activities. Our Energy Program has professors with expert knowledge engaging in various research on new and renewable energy which can mitigate climate change impacts (causing problems not only in Korea but also in the world), on eco-friendly hydrogen electric vehicles and electric vehicles, and on smart grids that improve the efficiency in the use of electric energy. Our Culture Program has professors with expert knowledge engaging in various research on computer graphics (a technology which can apply ICT to various cultural sectors), on cognitive science, on augmented reality and virtual reality, and on AI-based games. Our Intelligent Robotics Program has professors with expert knowledge engaging in various research on AI-based rehabilitation robotics, on the design of healthcare robots focusing on the robots to support the elderly and the infirm, on robot control technologies through the research on human-robot interaction, and on nano robots of the future. Thanks to the efforts of our professors from these diverse fields, the School of Integrated Technology is proud to offer a new platform for interdisciplinary convergence/integration research where you can find disruptive as well as unique technologies. We want you to take a closer look at our three Programs introduced on our website and the face of each professor and we hope that you will be a new member of the School of Integrated Technology. Your support will be of great help for us to become the backbone of the Institute of Integrated Technology and grow firm and strong at GIST. Thank you.
