2010. Fall
Post CMOS hybrid device technology (2010, Fall)
Course Description
This class covers basic operation principles and recent research status of advanced electronic devices for post CMOS era. The student will obtain basic knowledge on the forefront research in semiconductor material and device technology through this class.
2010. Fall
Advanced Device Analysis (2010, Fall)
Course Description
This class covers basic and advanced electrical characterization methods for electronic devices so that the student can utilize these methods in their research with good knowledge on the validity and limit of each method. Also, this class will teach student how to understand the technical results in the literature using the materials taught in the class. Undergraduate level understanding on MOSFET operation is needed. Understanding on the physics of semiconductor materials and device is recommended as a prerequisite, but not required. Syllabus (Spring, 2009)
2011. Spring
Device physics for nanoscale solid state devices (2011, Spring)
Course Description
This class will review the basic device physics and cover advanced device physics of nanoscale solid state devices. This course is a prerequisite course for the Advanced Electrical Characterization Methods for nano scale devices. Develop basic/advanced physical concepts for the submicron device operations. Understand scopes and limits of device physics Review state of art integration technologies Prepare students for electrical characterization lab course
2017. Fall
Advanced electrical characterization methods for nano scale devices (2017, Fall) characterization methods for nano scale devices (2017, Fall)
Course Description
This class covers advanced electrical characterization methods for electronic devices so that the student can utilize these methods in their research with good knowledge on the validity and limit of each method. 30% of class work will be allocated to the actual device measurement analysis.
2018. Spring
Introduction to semiconductor devices and processes (2018, Spring)
Course Description
This course covers basic physics and engineering concepts related to semiconductor and their electronic applications. Since semiconductor device physics is a baseline theory for many other electronic applications such as organic electronics, light emitting diode and thin film transistor, this course will provide basic learning to undergraduate students who are interested in the electronic applications of materials as well as who are planning to take advanced device physics courses.
2018. Fall
Future Device Technology & Intellectual Property Right (2018, Fall)
Course Description
This class aims to develop a skill to write a creative and competitive patent using the general knowledge for novel device and materials covered in the class. Final project can be linked to the actual filing of a real patent from students.
