The Thermal-Fluid and Energy Group focuses on thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer which have comprised one of major research fields in mechanical engineering. Based on its solid developments over more than two centuries, themal-fluid and energy engineering is currently involved in numerous daily-life applications such as steam or gas turbine cycles in power plants, internal combustion engines in automobiles, and aerodynamic design for aircrafts. In addition to the above traditional technologies, the Thermal-Fluid and Energy Group has eagerly extended our research interests to global and contemporary issues, e.g., sustainable energy and health care, which needs novel and interdisciplinary approaches.
