Students from one of our partner institutions who meet the exchange eligibility requirements may apply. These requirements may vary for different institutions, so please contact your international student exchange coordinator for details about the eligibility requirements.
Depending on the institutional agreement, eligible students may study for one or two semesters at GIST. The tuition fees are to be paid to their home university. If you wish to study at GIST as an exchange student, you should first contact the exchange coordinator at your home university for details about the selection process, such as eligibility, required documents, and deadlines.
★ Students should check with their home institution coordinator to verify that GIST is a partner institution with your home institution.
★ GIST will only process applicants who have been approved by their home institution to apply for the GIST Student Exchange Program.
To apply for the Inbound Exchange Program, you must satisfy the following criteria:
Minimum 1 year of full-time study at year home university
Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better (on a 4.5 point scale) or equivalent
TOEFL iBT 80 or its equivalent on other English language proficiency test
Your home institution coordinator must notify GIST by email at sic@gist.ac.kr that you have been approved by your home institution to apply for the GIST Student Exchange Program. Your home institution coordinator should also provide GIST with the following information: your full name, major/concentration, degree program, year of study, GPA, and English proficiency test results.

1. Once your minimum eligibility has been approved by the Section of Public Affairs, please proceed with the online registration by clicking on the button 'ONLINE APPLICATION' on the Application menu of this page.

※ To sign into our website, you must provide an approval code. After you have been officially approved by your home institution to apply for the GIST Student Exchange Program, please contact your home institution coordinator and ask for the code.
Create an account with your email address (approval code required)
Complete the online application form and upload the following required documents:
- Original (Official) Transcripts in English
- English Language Proficiency Test Results
- Copy of Passport
Applicants must make sure to press the “Submit” button after completing the application form. Pressing “Temporarily Saved” does not mean that it has been submitted.

※ The acceptance package contains the Certificate of Admission (necessary when applying for a visa) and other necessary information
- Minimum of 3 courses (9 credits)
- Maximum of 8 courses (24 credits)
· Students are responsible for ensuring that course credits earned at GIST can be transferred to their home institution.
· There is no official calculation to determine the equivalence of ECTS and GIST credits. The conversion for credits should be according to your home institution's policy and method of calculation. Please consult the exchange coordinator at your home institution regarding credit transfer issues.
· Transcripts
2 copies of your official transcripts will be delivered to your home institution coordinator by the GIST Section of Public Affairs. Please be aware that this can take up to 2 months after the end of the semester.
